Wholesale - choosing your colourway instructions:

In order to maximize the flexibility of your base and colourway combinations without the need to scroll through all potential options, I have added the ability for wholesale customers to choose a colourway to dye on any of the bases I carry.

Sample photos are generally on one of our sock bases unless indicated. Finished product may vary slightly from sample due to the hand-dyed technique. Dye lots will be assigned to yarn that is dyed at the same time. While we do our best to represent colours as accurately as possible, different screens may affect the colour you see.

Please be aware of the following generalizations when making a combination that does not appear in my shop:

Different weights will most likely change the final look, as dyes absorb differently when the surface area changes. A good example of how different weights can affect the final outcome can be seen by looking at the various options of Meet Me In Lacombe, Kaleidoscope, Beach Day, and Fall Gardens in my retail shop.
Fibre content can affect the colour of the dyes:
- Amesbury bases - the silver or gold stellina creates either a grey (silver) or deeper ivory (gold) base, which will affect the final colour. Speckles are often not as sharp, and this base is not a great choice for a heavily speckled colourway.
- Broadmoor bases - some colour changes have been seen, while others are fine. I will spot test colours before dyeing and consult you if I notice a big difference.
- Georgian and Glenbrook bases - silk and merino may take up portions of the dye slightly differently, and the final colour may differ slightly from those dyed on other bases.
- Tisbury bases - colour absorbs more slowly into non-superwash fibres, and so there may be more blending of colours, and colours may be less vibrant. Speckles may not appear as sharp.
- Woodbridge and Glenbrook bases - the natural colour of these bases is a very soft tan, instead of the ivory of merino. This may result in slightly darker colours.
- Bases containing a merino/nylon blend (Barbury, Salisbury, Jubilee) are the lightest in colour, and will show the colours the brightest.
Wholesale orders are for multiples of 4 per colourway for full sized skeins. Minimum order is 40 full sized skeins.
